On Sunday 1 October we celebrate International Coffee Day like every year.
This year we wanted to do things big, to give you the opportunity to get to know the world of coffee from A to Z, in all its facets, even those you would never have thought of!
We want to give the opportunity to anyone, come oncoffee lovers, to the curious, up to professionals in the sector, to touch the raw coffee, its roasting and obviously taste it.
For us, coffee is not just our job, but it is a great passion. Being able to pass it on to you too is our main goal!

When?
Sunday 1 October
At what time?
From 10.30am to 5pm.
Do I have to arrive at 10.30am and stay with you until 5pm?
Absolutely not!
The event will be awalk-in,that is, the doors will always be open to anyone throughout the day. You will therefore be able to arrive immediately at 10.30, or only for the events that interest you most and leave whenever you want.
There will be no pre-established routes to follow, but you will only stop at the stations that attract you the most!

At the Ernani Coffee Roasting Laboratory

All along the street there is ample free parking reserved for us for the whole day!

Everyone and I mean everyone!
Authentic industry experts and others coffee lovers or curious to discover something more, alone, as a couple, with friends, as a family and even with your puppies in tow.

The events of the day
During the day of Sunday 1st October we organized many events together with collaborators and friends from different sectors, all closely linked to the magical toasted bean.

Opening of the gates and presentation of the first book with the Author.
From now on you can come and taste Espresso or filter coffee.
Paolo, Andrea and Martina are waiting for you to follow you in a fun tasting, to discover the incredible flavors that coffee beans can have.
Furthermore, the first Author will present his book to us!
In fact, Giada, CEO of the innovative Milanese publishing house, will be with us throughout the day Another Coffee Stories, who will accompany us in the discovery of his books through a synesthetic journey.
Ok, but in a nutshell what will we do?
Every half hour or so, starting from 10.30, each Author will present his book. In the meantime, we at Caffè Ernani will prepare a coffee expertly combined with the texture to taste it together.
Obviously there will also be space to ask questions to all the writers, as well as buy the books themselves.

First roasting of the day.
You will be able to witness the roasting of different coffee samples and follow all its phases, to see the physical and chemical changes of the beans, from the change in color, size and shape, up to the development of the aromatic profile.
Let yourself be inebriated by the scent of freshly roasted coffee!
Discover with Paolo and Andrea the beauty of this process step by step and taste the coffee.

Continue with the tasting in Espresso and filter.
Never stop drinking coffee… especially if it’s good!
Taste all the coffees that intrigue you the most and you will discover an incredible world!
Not only in espresso, but also with different filter methods, such as Chemex, V60, Moka, and many more.

Second roasting of the day.
If you weren’t able to attend the morning session don’t worry you still have one chance!
In fact, from 2.30 pm there will be the second roasting session, to discover all the secrets of coffee beans with Paolo and Andrea and see first-hand their transformation and the creation of the inebriating scent of freshly roasted coffee.

h 15.00 Challenge the players of Pallacanestro Aurora Desio.
Are you a basketball fan? Do you want to try to win a pack of coffee?
The society Aurora Desio Basketball will present you the team that will play in B1 in the 2023/2024 season. Come and ask for autographs from your favorite players!
After which we move to the courtyard for a free throw competition challenging the players themselves!
If you manage to make 3 out of 3 baskets, we’ll give you a pack of coffee!
N.B. You will find them until 4.30pm.
While… throughout the day it will always be possible
Getting to know the guys at Buoono.farm a brand new Milanese urban farm, 100% green and sustainable, which gives new life to any food.
In our case Pietro and his partners recover production waste from Caffè Ernani to give it new life and grow 100% edible mushrooms of all types!
They have also created an interesting home kit with which you too can grow mushrooms on your balcony in just a few days!

The first is authentic and professionalizing academy, which welcomes countless professionals every year eager to improve themselves and deepen their specific knowledge of the raw materials treated and the latest modern and innovative processing and presentation techniques.

The second, however, Carolina from Knitted by Caro, will exhibit her clothes, all rigorously handmade by her, both winter and summer, both knitted and crocheted.

Coffee Beer Tasting!
This will be the most exclusive event of the entire day, so get ready to sign up!
From 5.00 pm the doors will close, but not for everyone!
Because for the 18 of you who purchase the ticket it will be possible to do the Coffee Beer Tasting.
Fabio, in art BeerSlinger89 beer expert, and Martina, coffee expert, will accompany you in the sensorial experience to discover the often unusual union of these two fascinating worlds.
They will tell you about the different brewing methods, and the different ways in which the coffees were used, as well as curiosities and anecdotes that will allow you to know the products offered in even more detail.
Obviously what we all want most is to taste them!
Fabio has selected 4 of them, all from artisanal Italian breweries, which carry out continuous experimentation and analysis to improve their product day after day.
The breweries themselves have then selected only fine specialty coffees for their blending, to leave nothing to chance and work only with great professionals!
There were 18 tickets, but there are only 7 available at the moment, so hurry and buy them!
They are available online at the price of €18.50, but you can get them at the discounted price of €15.00 if you purchase them at the Laboratorio Caffè Ernani in Desio before the event.
